WHAT IS A MISSION ?
It is two weeks in the life of a Parish, when there will be special events and services, morning, evening and during the day. These will be social as well as spiritual, inclusive and ecumenical, and for everyone, young and old, active and less active. The theme chosen by the Parishioners is to be “Growing Together”.
Our Mission will be
· a unique opportunity to work and celebrate as a Christian family and in doing so grow together as a Parish and as a Community
· a time to reflect on our lives in the light of the Gospels, the Good News that Jesus has risen for us and that we really are children of God
· an opportunity to proclaim our faith to others
· a time to take stock of our lives – where we are; where we are going
· a time to develop a personal relationship with Jesus
· an occasion to make good things better and to appreciate more fully the new life that God provided for us
· an opportunity to pause and listen
· a chance for each person to do something special with our family and our friends, in an effort to build up our own personal faith
· a once in a lifetime chance to come closer to God in a special way.
A Mission calls us to put more effort into everything that we do, for just two weeks. This is also a time for “Growing Together” as the people of God and accepting our particular responsibility for our Community, our Parish and God’s Church.
