A PERSONAL INVITATION
Dear fellow Parishioners
Over a year ago, the idea of having a Parish Mission was proposed, and it is now only one week away! In the past year we have been working with the Sion community to identify the needs of our parish and what this Mission should be about. In previous newsletters we have included details of what a Mission is, and what this Mission in particular, could do for each of us.
Eight missionaries (five lay people and three religious), will form the Visiting team for the 1st week. Starting on Saturday 22nd April they will try to visit as many of us as possible in our homes, to share the faith we hold in common, and to pray with us if we wish.
In the second week the Sion Celebration team will arrive, to help us put on special services every day and particularly in the evenings, where there will be preaching, teaching, and most importantly praise.
The theme chosen by the Parish last November was “Growing Together”, and each day of the second week, we will develop this theme in each of our evening services.
This is your personal invitation to participate in the Mission, to attend as many of the services as possible, so that we can join together as a Parish, sharing in the wonderful teaching of our Lord, and listening to each other, as we explore what it is that God has in store for each of us.
A lot of hard work and prayer has gone into the planning of this event, and we all hope and pray that this will be reflected in large numbers attending the special morning Masses and Evening Services.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will inspire us all, to make this Mission not only memorable in our community and in our personal lives, but also to help us move forward together as one body— “ Growing Together ”, as we look to the future.
