Finance Committee
This committee advises the parish priest in money matters, the maintenance of parish property and plant, the taking of new initiatives and other matters the Parish Priest or Parish Pastoral Council may ask it to consider.
Gift Aid Scheme
If you pay income, any money you give to the Church can be ‘gift aided’, allowing the parish to claim back from the Inland Revenue the tax you have paid on that sum. The Gift Aid Scheme organiser can also arrange for you to make your contributions to the parish by Banker’s Order if you wish.
Hall Management Committee
Manages the running of our Parish Halls.
Minibus
The parish has its own minibus for use by parish organisations subject to availability and an approved driver.
Parish Newsletter
Items for the parish newsletter should be handed into the Presbytery by Wednesday morning for publication the following Sunday.
Parish Register
If you have moved into the parish recently or have changed your address, please let the parish office, or one of the priests know so that parish records can be kept up to date. You may use the form in the centre of this booklet for this purpose. The records are stored on a computer. (The registration required under the provision of the Data Protection Act 1987 is arranged through the diocese.)
Sound and Vision
The parish has its own video equipment for use by parish organisations wishing to show videotapes of an educational nature.
We also have a portable sound system, radio mikes, and DVD capabilities which are regularly used for our Children’s and Young People’s catechetical formation, especially for the Confirmation Programme. Please contact the Parish Priest if you wish to use this equipment.
Weekly Draw
Members of the weekly draw pay 15 p per week. The draw takes place during the Wednesday Coffee morning after 10 a.m. Mass. There is a weekly prize of £5 and two £50 prizes every month. Winners’ names are published in the Newsletter. New members are always very welcome. If you would like to join please get in touch with the organiser via the Parish Office.
