Addiscombe Youth Team

This is currently a small team of young people aged 14-18 who get together to organise fund raising activities, support the Parish in the use of its computer, sound and vision equipment, and volunteer support to the Confirmation Programme as peer catechists. They are always looking for new members to expand their activities, and are keen to establish a regular informal meeting for chat and worship.

The Girl Guide Association

There are two Rainbow Units, three Brownie packs and two Guide Companies in the parish and meetings are held in the Church Hall.

Rainbows are girls aged 5 to 7 years.

1st Addiscombe Rainbows
Meeting: Fridays 5.15 – 6.15 p.m.

5th Addiscombe Rainbows
Meeting: Wednesdays 5 - 6 p.m.

Brownies are girls aged 7 to 10 years.

1st Addiscombe Brownies
Meeting: Mondays 6.30 – 8.00 p.m. in Small Hall

9th Addiscombe Brownies
Meeting: Thursdays 6.15 – 7.45 p.m. in Small Hall

12th Addiscombe Brownies
Meeting: Wednesdays 6.45 – 8.15 p.m. in Small Hall

Guides are girls aged 10 to 15 years.

1st Addiscombe Guide Company
Meeting: Fridays from 6.30 p.m. – 8.30 p.m. in Small Hall

12th Addiscombe Guide Company
Meeting: Thursday 7.45 – 9.00 p.m. in Playgroup Hall

The Scout Association

The 28th Croydon (Our Lady of the Annunciation) Scout Group has now been in existence for over 50 years. Meetings are held at our own Scout Headquarters which is located at the rear of 20-22 Craven Road (off Bingham Rd.) The Group currently comprises the following Sections:

Willow Beaver Colony (for boys aged 6 to 8 years).
Meets: Tuesdays from 6 – 7 p.m.

Elder Beaver Colony (for boys aged 6 to 8 years).
Meets Friday from 5.30 – 7 p.m.

Bede Cub Pack (for boys aged 8 to 10 and a half years)
Meets: Mondays from 7 – 8.30 p.m.

Becket Cub Pack (for boys aged 8 to 10 and half years)
Meets: Wednesdays from 7 - 8.30 p.m.

Scout Troop (for boys aged 10 and a half to 14 years)
Meets: Fridays from 7.30 – 9.00 p.m.

All parents who wish their children to join the Scout Group or adults who wish to become involved as leaders should contact the Group Scout Leader first via the parish office.

Church Parade Mass

This is usually held on the 3rd Sunday of each month (except August) at the 10 a.m. Mass. Members of the Scout Group join with the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides of the Parish and take an active part in the Mass. Meeting time is 9.45 a.m. in the Church Hall and members are dismissed from there at about 11.15 a.m. Refreshments are usually provided afterwards.
