January 2018 meeting

The Cultural Diversity Support Group held a meeting on 14th January 2018, where the following was agreed:

Aim

To embrace cultural diversity in our church community and create a non- threatening harmonious environment.

Objectives

 

  • Identify cultural diversity within the church’s community
  • Celebrate successes and conquer challenges together
  • Understand the potential impacts and benefits of cultural diversity
  • Consider ways to positively address cultural diversity
  • Provide support in confidence where necessary

 

Membership

Restricted to Our Lady of the Annunciation parishioners. Outsiders are free to attend our activities and participate as visitors . There is no age limit except children will be under parental guidance.

  • Confidentiality
  • Supporting each other

 

Relationships will be guided by Aims and Objectives, and the operation of the group by Father Keith and the Parish Council.

Next meeting 

The next Cultural Diversity Support Group meeting will be held on Sunday 18th March; timings to follow.

Competition time!

To mark Fr. Flags from home coutries of those who attended the Cultural Diversity Support Group celebration. Joe’s retirement last year, the group presented him with a photo album of pictures taken at Our Lady’s World Day for Cultural Diversity celebration.

One of the pages in the book showed the flags of every nationality who attended the celebration (right).
