Parish Review 2025
On the bright, sunny afternoon of 29th June, many parishioners gathered in the church grounds for a family picnic and parish review. The aim of the event was to provide a relaxed, secure, friendly environment in which parishioners could enjoy a picnic and also find out about what’s happening in our parish and maybe play a more active part.
The parish accounts were published in advance and were displayed on the day, together with reports and information from several of our parish groups.
Some of these groups set up stalls in the hall and members were on hand to provide information and answer questions about their various activities.
Members of the PPC, Finance Committee and our clergy were also in attendance similarly to provide additional information and answer questions.
The St Thomas Becket Primary School choir entertained us with songs to advertise their fundraising CD (to help finance the church mosaic project).
Our church choirs also provided a number of musical interludes in the church hall.
Members of the social club kindly opened the bar for us and were kept pretty busy. Teas and coffees were provided by members of the PPC.
Overall, this provided a much more relaxed atmosphere than the traditional meeting, and we will endeavour to repeat this format in future years. A big ‘Thank You’ to all who contributed to the proceedings in any way, and for the suggestions for improvements for next year. Many of our parish groups reported new members coming forward.
