Parish Review 2026

Parish Review & Family Picnic 2026

The Parish Review and Family Picnic for 2026 took place on Sunday July 12th. We were once again blessed with a bright sunny Summer’s day – ideal picnic weather! The families that came for the picnic enjoyed a relaxed, secure and friendly afternoon on the lawn at the rear of the church.

Meanwhile, in the hall, reports and posters were displayed which included our recently published parish accounts together with information about the numerous groups that are active in our parish. The aim of this was to provide an opportunity for parishioners to find out about what’s happening in our parish and maybe play a more active part. Fr Keith, members of various parish groups, and members of the PPC were on hand to provide additional information and answer questions.

Liquid refreshments were available, with teas and coffees served from the kitchen, and the social club kindly opened the bar for the duration.

A big ‘Thank You’ to all who contributed to the proceedings in any way, and for the suggestions for improvements for next year. Many of our parish groups reported new members coming forward. The number of families participating in the picnic showed a slight increase on last year.

Overall, it was felt that the event was generally successful, with numbers slightly up on last year. However, it was really divided into two aspects, so next year we will aim to split them into two separate events. The Parish Review will be presented in the same relaxed way in the hall at a coffee morning after the Sunday Masses. The Family Picnic will be a separate event on a different date, hopefully with some family games etc. as purely a social, community gathering.
